Hardship Policy:

To apply for a Hardship Waiver you must provide the following:
        *a letter in writing , dated and addressed to TYSL BOD
        * state reason for hardship with documentation (unemployment letter, medical note ect.)

The letter will be reviewed by the current TYSL BOD and will require a majority vote to grant the "hardship waiver". A letter in writing will be sent to the applicant either accepting or denying the claim. A new letter is required for each new season of TYSL soccer. Waivers are granted on a case by case basis. Questions should be directed to the Registrar of TYSL Soccer.

TYSL Board of Directors “Tie Vote” Policy

At the culmination of a vote by the BOD’s, if there is a tie with the same amount of “Yes” votes to “No” votes, the Chair of the Board is allowed to cast 1 vote, either “Yes” or “No” to break the tie.

TYSL Commissioners Cup and Mass State Champions Policy

Any Tewksbury team winning the Massachusetts state championship (MTOC) will be allotted a sum of no more than $100 per player to fund the purchase of a team jacket including the cost of embroidery.

Any team U12 and up winning the Commissioners Cup Championship will be allotted a sum of no more than $70 per player to fund the purchase of a team jacket including the cost of embroidery. U10 teams will receive an award in the form of a trophy from TYSL. Cost for each trophy not to exceed $25.

If a Tewksbury teams wins Commissions Cup and then later wins MTOC, TYSL will fund only the purchase of the state championship jackets. Funding for the jackets will come from TYSL sponsored fund raising events and tournaments.

TYSL Lightning Policy

TYSL has adopted MYSL's Lightning Policy. All TYSL coaches and referees are to adhere to the following policy regarding lightning.
- If a referee hears thunder the referee should immediately begin to keep an eye on the sky for any sign of visible lightning.
-At the first sign of lightning the referee is instructed to immediately stop the match and move the players from the field. Even if the lightning event only lasts for a short while, it is far better to err on the side of safety as opposed to allowing players to remain in a potentially dangerous situation.
- The referee should then wait 15-30 minutes (depending on how quickly the storm moves off) before attempting to restart the match. If after 30 minutes it appears as though the thunderstorm will not abate or that field conditions have deteriorated to the point where they are unplayable, the referee may elect to abandon the match.
-If the match is resumed then it should resume with the proper restart appropriate for how the game was stopped.

TYSL Dog Policy

Although dogs are considered by some to be part of the family, they are NOT allowed at TYSL games or practices. There are a number of children and adults who are frightened of dogs. Additionally, dogs often relieve themselves on the same fields where our children play soccer. Even if kept on a short leash and prevented from wandering, dogs have no business at soccer practices or games.

All dogs must be kept outside of the fenced perimeter of the playing fields. If owners are not willing to comply with this policy, it is the responsibility of attending coaches, referees, and league officials to halt play in the area and contact the Tewksbury Police Department for resolution.
