Soccer can and will be played in inclement weather, but it cannot be played if there is thunder and/or lightning in the area.
Please follow these simple rules:
If thunder and/or lightning is heard or seen, all players, officials and coaches must leave the field immediately.
Play (games and/or practices) should not be resumed until 30 minutes have passed since the last flash of lightning or clap of thunder.
In the event of inclement weather, Tewksbury Youth Soccer League (“TYSL”) may close the fields and deem them unplayable. After TYSL, it is then at the discretion of the age director to cancel game play for their assigned leagues.
TYSL will try to cancel games at least one hour before their scheduled playing time. However, due to unpredictable weather, in some cases game play may need to be called at or during game time.
5. Coaches are responsible for ensuring that their players are safe during the storm.
